Our Youth Programs are supported with funding from United Way, Juvenile Justice Prevention Funds and Rotary Club 14.
Our Youth Coordinator, Candace Orton, serves in the Youth on the Move AmeriCorps program sponsored through Lincoln Parks and Recreation.
We support high school students through programs that:
- offer academic support
- promote social and physical well-being
- strengthen connections to school and family
The Asian Community and Cultural Center’s mission is to support and empower Asian people while sharing our cultures with the entire community through our programs and services. With that in mind, we are excited to once again be offering scholarships to students in our community this year! We will present multiple $500 scholarships to Asian or Asian-American students who will graduate from a high school in Lincoln this year. Exceptions can be made for students with non-Asiatic roots who have substantially contributed to the Asian Center through volunteer work or have participated in its youth programs.
The scholarship may be used for any vocational, community college, or university expense in the United States and will be presented at the LPS Asian Student Recognition Ceremony on May 12th, 2017.
Applications should be completed and returned to the Asian Community and Cultural Center (144 North 44th Street Suite-A, Lincoln NE 68503, Attn: Scholarship Committee) with a postmark no later than April 30, 2017.
Questions can be sent to Sheila Vinton at email@example.com or answered by Asian Center staff at 402-477-3446.
