Through our Health Education & Advocacy Program, we provide our clients with chronic disease management assistance, case management, and educational programming, including nutrition and exercise. Our Advocates assist clients with setting up clinic appointments and monitor progress on healthy lifestyle goals.

Staff are trained as Community Health Workers, Community Breast Feeding Educators, Living Well Diabetes Educators, WRAP facilitators, Peer Support Specialists, and more in order and provide mental health support groups and individual assistance.

Please call our office and ask for Lanetta Edison Soe, Nilofar Saidi, or Meherafroz Ghani for more information.

  • In fall of 2023, the Asian Center was awarded the Health Literacy Champion certificate. Every day, our advocates bridge cultural and linguistic barriers to help local immigrants understand the complicated health system and empower clients to navigate their health journey with confidence.

This honor from the Nebraska Association of Local Health Directors recognizes the hard work, expertise, and excellence of Asian Center staff in the public health realm. It represents more than 400 hours of training, study, and practice.
