Youth Program Coordinator II

Availability: ASAP. Position will remain opened until a suitable candidate is found.

Full-time position, Monday-Friday. Requires some evening/weekend work.

$42,000 - $45,000 salary range, based on experience.

 

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to collaboratively lead the Asian Center’s Youth Program, serving 200–300 youth annually. Youth Program Coordinator II shares equal accountability with Youth Program Coordinator I for achieving program goals, meeting grant requirements, and overseeing the program budget. Together, they work closely with the Essential Resources Program Manager and supervise part-time youth staff. Approximately 50% of this role is devoted to direct service, including facilitating groups, mentoring youth, and engaging with participants.

 

Key Accountabilities

Direct Service and Youth Engagement

  • Coordinate and facilitate multiple weekly youth programs (after-school, in-school, or weekend) at local schools and at the center.
  • Mentor a caseload of approximately 30 youth through one-to-one case management.
  • Recruit youth participants by building relationships with schools, families, and community members, and by identifying community needs.
  • Develop strong connections with LPS community liaisons, ELL teachers, guidance counselors, parents, and others to create a supportive community network.

Program Management and Supervision

  • Share accountability with the Youth Program Coordinator I for running weekly youth staff meetings, coordinating schedules, and holding regular check-ins with direct reports and supervisors.
  • Supervise and support part-time Youth Program staff, fostering professional growth while ensuring program and grant requirements are met.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to interns and volunteers, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator and Programs Manager to train, assign, and manage volunteers and interns assisting with the Youth Program.

Administrative and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate documentation of youth contacts in spreadsheets and databases for program tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Manages grant tasks including completing narrative and financial reports and providing support for grant applications.
  • Develops and manages program budgets to effectively spend down grant funds, ensuring all expenditures are accurately tracked and aligned with individual grant requirements.

Other Responsibilities

  • Attend and successfully complete all required staff training.
  • Represent ACCC in public forums in a positive, knowledgeable, and professional manner.
  • Provide transportation for youth in company vans when needed (completion of van training required).
     

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, youth development, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 2–3 years’ direct service experience with youth, preferably middle or high school students, in community-based, educational, or social service settings.
  • Proven ability to facilitate groups and build supportive, culturally responsive relationships with diverse youth.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, strengths-based, and youth-centered practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to balance direct service with program coordination responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends; reliable transportation to program sites.
  • Ability to pass background check(s) as required by funders or for youth safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supervising staff, interns, or volunteers and working collaboratively in a team or co-leadership model.
  • Familiarity with issues impacting immigrant, refugee, and first-generation youth; knowledge of local youth resources.
  • Experience in project management, event planning, teaching, or grant-funded program coordination.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.

 

Physical Requirements

Some physical activity, including activities with youth, may be required. Extended periods of sitting in front of a computer.
